From an internet marketing point of view not all websites are the same. Some websites pose difficulties to search engines, the prime source of traffic for many websites. For a website to feature in search engine rankings, you need to optimize it to a certain level. We now take a look at how we can optimize our websites. Keep to a central theme on your website. Do not keep mixing your primary keywords. Since your website content derives from your keywords, any mix up will dilute your keyword density and make your site fall way down the search engine results page.
As far as possible, use text link for navigation instead of graphics. Search engines cannot read the text on graphics but they need to know your link structure so they can index it in their database. A graphic laden website poses a major hindrance in optimization. If you cannot avoid it at all, it is suggested that you place appropriate alt tags on the images so the search engines can know what the images tell.
A flash website is difficult to index because flash is a script and not html. The internet is mainly composed of html pages, the type of programming language that the web search engines understand. If you put too much flash, the system finds it hard to index the page and you may eventually suffer in ranking.
