Crocheting was very popular in the 70s. Lots of women, and maybe even men were crocheting in their spare time. Some of them made beautiful clothes, jackets, skirts, children´s dresses, hats, mittens, scarfs and collars - there was a lot of imagination and people were creative in this great kind of art.Lots of bed covers were made and coatings for pillows and beautiful runners to put on almost every table. Even towels were made with crocheting - or at least you could put a crocheted lace on the sides of the towel.

In the first half of last century it was very common to crochet laces for sheets. Even when the sheets are worn out, the lace is still perfect. It could be used for a new sheet or curtain and still stay in good condition for many years.

The yarn for crocheting was often cotton but for clothes it could be wool. There were some really beautiful yarns that could be used for decoration. Some of them with silk and others shining like gold, silver or colored metal. Even linen yarns could be popular and in Finland, where this art is developed very far, you can still buy lots of cotton and linen yarns with different structures.

Do you want to start crocheting. You will need crochet hooks. You can start with medium size, if you are new and then buy thinner or thicker hooks when you need them. There are lots of books with instructions for beginners and more advanced crocheters and you may even find patterns in some relative´s house.

I hope you try the crocheting and develop in your own personal way. It will give you a lots of joy and a long lasting hobby.

Would you like to help others? Then you could feel how happy you are to make a difference in somebody´s life - maybe a big smile on the face of a child, an elderly person or a single parent. Your work at home gives you both time and resources to do good things to others.

This way to visualize starts our subconscious to work for us. The more we get the feeling that this is true, the more we start to act in the direction of our goal.

Most of us have been programmed to think in negative terms, haven´t we? It takes time and effort to turn everything to positive. Perhaps we need to remind ourselves daily in the beginning.

One way to train positive thinking could be to place a piece of paper on our refrigerator, where we see it every day. Keep a pen handy and write something there every day that you are grateful for. Your positive view of things will become more and more obvious even for others.

Keep spreading the positive thinking around you - stay around positive people and you can help each other to keep your goal so clear that you will reach it sooner or later.
